2020 Ford Explorer Changes

As part of its extensive update, the 2020 Ford Explorer switches to a rear-wheel drive from its previous four-wheel drive. With a wheelbase that is longer by six inches, the SUV also gains more passenger space. Fold down all the seats and for the first time, four-foot-wide building materials fit flat on the floor.

Technology Highlights

The driver assists of the 2020 Ford Explorer boost your confidence with such technologies as the Blind Spot Information System that warns of intrusions into your blind zone, Lane-Keeping System that ensures you stay within your lane without drifting, and a Rear View Camera that shows what's behind you when you go into reverse.


Trim Amenities

At Glockner Ford, you can choose from four trims of the 2020 Ford Explorer. They start off with the XLT that seats up to seven on cloth trim and continue to the Limited with six seats clad in leather. Push a button on the ST and it practically parks itself. At the top Platinum level, a twin-panel moonroof offers views of the sky.

Safety Accolades

From 2014 to 2019, the emphasis of the 2020 Ford Explorer on protecting its riders has garnered a Five-Star Overall Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for each of those years. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave Good marks for this model for roof strength, side crashworthiness, and head restraints.
